GANJA: THE SKY ISN'T FALLING

THE EDITOR, Sir:

Regarding Aldyth Buck-land's letter on Saturday, March 8, 2014 titled
'Yes, ganja can damage the brain', I should take the good doctor to
task with a few pointers.

1. Why don't you print your findings in the New England Journal of
Medicine, not the Jamaica Gleaner. Scare-mongering doesn't work on
people anymore.

2. I'm quite sure more people are harmed using sugar than those who
use marijuana. Have you ever studied that?

3. I am quite sure that as a licensed representative of big pharma,
you have written prescriptions for things that are more dangerous to
the human brain than a joint, haven't you, dear doctor?

4. Marijuana isn't for everyone, and not everyone reacts well to it.
It is not for the feint of heart, the weak-minded, those who cannot
see reality for what it is, the coward and, yes, the sceptical.

I am quite sure the ingredients in that pack or can of processed or
artificially preserved food you buy in the supermarket cause more
damage to your body than the effects of a marijuana joint.
