GROW-OP AMENDMENTS MADE

KIRKLAND LAKE - Kirkland Lake's Property Standards Bylaw has been
updated to reflect changes required by the province.

One of the big changes required is a section concerning illegal
marijuana grow operations.

This section states that no person or owner will permit an illicit
marijuana grow operation on a property.

If a marijuana grow is found on a property the owner must provide a
report on the condition of the property, written by experts and
reporting on air quality, electrical systems and structural issues.

A property used as a grow operation must have the registered on the
title to the property. If the reports are not completed and
corrections made the town is to declare that the property should not
be occupied until the reports have been received and identified
conditions corrected.
