If they have ethics, they are situational at best. Politicians are smooth talkers but say very little. They lie. They cheat. They steal. Their only goal is to be re- elected. The policies are divisive. They may be good enough to get elected but I would never invite ( insert name of politician) to have dinner at my house. The list of complaints is endless. The blame for the quality of politicians rests solely with the electorate - you and I. If we don't expect and demand the best from our politicians, we get less than the best. We get what we deserve. It is time to set the bar higher. Justin Trudeau recently admitted, with pride, that he smoked marijuana while he was a Member of Parliament. He only smoked a little bit. It was not a big deal. It is not really his thing. Justin doesn't get it. He is one of our federal lawmakers; he should be a role model; he holds a position of trust; he wants to become Prime Minister of Canada. He committed a criminal offence. He should be charged under the Criminal Code of Canada. If Justin believes that possession of marijuana should be decriminalized, the proper course of action would be to make this an election issue and if he and the Liberals form the government, pass a law to this effect. I have a question for Mr. Trudeau. Are you too important to follow all laws? If you are elected as Prime Minister, why should I follow all laws if you don't? Can I pick and choose the laws I will follow? Do only average citizens have to follow all laws? Enough is enough. We deserve better from all politicians. Let's start with Justin. You are not fit to be a Member of Parliament and more importantly not fit to be Prime Minister. Signed, an angry Canadian Don Archi Brantford - --- MAP posted-by: Jay Bergstrom
