NO SYMPATHY FOR HOMEOWNER

The Editor, Re: "$1.3M drug home forfeited," News, Aug. 14.

Poor Mr. Fan Quiang Zeeng. Yes, he's one of Richmond's statistically
poor, declaring income between $3,000-$7,000 a year. He owned a house
in Vancouver and a house in Richmond (which was mortgaged). He sent
his children to private school.

I wonder how much, we, the taxpayer, had to pay for the police,
lawyers, judges, court in order for his wife to be convicted for the
grow-op? Maybe $500,000? Meanwhile, our taxes are raised in order to
pay for cheaters. I'm willing to pay tax for people who're unable to
get a job and unable to afford rent because of our high cost of living.

But it would be beneficial if our local MPs could check out people's
income tax and compare it to their lifestyle.

But, of course, we must adhere to the Privacy Rule.
