MEDICAL MARIJUANA TOPS 100,000 SIGNATURES

The group seeking to put a medical-marijuana issue on the 2014 ballot
has gathered enough signatures to get its ballot language reviewed by
the Florida Supreme Court, the group's chairman, John Morgan, said
Thursday. United for Care has collected 110,000 signatures to support
its proposal to allow marijuana for medical purposes. The group needs
573,000 more signatures to get it on the ballot, and Morgan - an
Orlando attorney and major political fundraiser - said the effort
continues. "We are in great shape," he said. "A huge advertising buy
has been made beginning in September to recruit volunteers and inform
the public."
