DETAILED INFO NEEDED FROM POT GROWERS

PORT COLBORNE - Applying to own a pot farm is not a simple process.

A 15-page application available on the Health Canada website requires
multiple certifications, security clearances and legal notifications.

Not just anyone can apply. The second part of the 11-part application
requires applicants to submit a copy of their businesses
incorporation certificate.

The third part of the application asks for detailed personal
information about the facility's proposed manager, proposed
responsible person in charge, alternate person in charge, and the
names of people who the company would supply with medical marijuana.

The applicant must also provide Health Canada with copies of security
clearance applications or attach copies of proposed employees clearance.

They must specify their activities and quantity of pot on site,
quantity sold and more.

Applicants must also already own land or have signed consent from the
owner to use the land to grow cannabis.

Companies also have to build or set up on land that's zoned
agricultural and have a detailed security proposal that includes
building floor plans and video surveillance.

Local governments, police and fire personnel must be notified.

These farms must also have qualified quality assurance employees and
must provide a proposal for the company's record keeping method.
