How is making it legal and more widely accessible going to keep it away from the kids? 2. Society has been pushing hard to eliminate smoking. Will this bring back more smoking (including more tobacco), increase lung cancer, and impact the health care system? 3. There was a lot of health/cancer concern about second hand smoke with tobacco, so should we also be concerned about second hand smoke with pot? 4. Are the impaired driving laws adequate for pot and do we have mechanisms for detecting impairment sufficient to prosecute? We need facts before making any decisions. At the very most, until we sort this out, decriminalization might be considered for small amounts, with heavy fines for possession, avoiding jail costs and criminal records; but not legalization until the facts are in.
