PRO-POT RALLY BRAVED THE COLD ON SATURDAY

Small gathering aimed to educate citizens about the benefits of
legalizing marijuana

(PETERBOROUGH) "Legitimize. Legalize. Decriminalize."

These words blew out of a megaphone to passing cars on Water Street
Saturday afternoon at Victoria Park. Some replied with honks to the
delight of Rob, the man broadcasting that message.

The 420 Cannabis Awareness event takes place annually on April 20 to
rally for the legalization and awareness of medical, industrial, and
recreational cannabis.

Parents encouraged their children to play with hula hoops in the park
and people chatted as they tried to protect themselves from a cold
brisk wind. Organizers wrapped themselves in green leaf flags and
handed out information to passers-by. Some people in park readily
admitted they were stone and declined to speak to a reporter.
