MARIJUANA VOTE STRIKES A NERVE

I and many others disagree with the March 14 editorial about Larry
Wahl's protest at last week's Board of Supervisors meeting.

I attended that particular meeting. Several items were removed from
the consent agenda, allowing for discussion. It was a noble thought,
the proclamation for the year of the child by Supervisor Maureen
Kirk. But by her voting for the outrageous, large numbers of pot
plants allowable in the marijuana ordinance, thereby throwing all who
live in the unincorporated areas under the bus that includes
children, the proclamation was hypocritical. Wahl had every right to
bring that up. He had a good reason. Bashing him in the E-R was
unfair. It was actually Supervisor Bill Connelly who threw a fit, a
couple of times, concerning proclamations and resolutions. The Second
Amendment was another heated exchange.

By the way, I had a good laugh reading the letter "Talk to a cannabis
patient." Everyone knows that pot is pot and that's all it is. It has
never been about medicine. It's all about money. And by the way, if I
hear that word again (medicine), I think I too will become sick and
vomit. We, the non-potheads, would have more respect if they, the pot
users, told the truth - they just enjoy getting high. Curing cancer?
Give us a break. My sister has stage 4 lymphoma. If that were the
case, I would be the first one in line buying.
