WOULD WE GIVE DRUG DEALERS A PHARMACEUTICAL LICENSE?

Illinois lawmakers decreed that illegal immigrants will be awarded a
license to legally operate motor vehicles in the state. Lawmakers
reasoned that the state is obligated to make auto insurance available
to anyone wishing to operate a motor vehicle here.

The stated purpose of this action is to alleviate the losses incurred
by citizens involved in traffic accidents with uninsured, illegal immigrants.

Lawmakers might have considered one other alternative to this problem.
It was to punish the illegal, uninsured immigrants with forced labor.
So instead of burdening our legal system with all of these
obfuscations and contradictions, the decree might have stated that all
illegal, uninsured drivers simply work off any damage incurred, in
compensation for traffic accidents they cause.

Now, on to the next problem. Illegal drug sellers. Just as illegal
immigrants are awarded a license, lawmakers could just as easily award
illegal drug sellers pharmaceutical licenses. This would save U.S.
taxpayers the expense of prosecuting and incarcerating its citizens
for using and selling drugs. Tax revenues would replace tax expenses
under this scenario.

So, the real news story here is, as long as lawmakers govern by
decree, the possibilities are limitless.
