FIRM STANCE ON MARIJUANA APPRECIATED

To the editor:

Re: Marijuana busts in Northumberland spark online debate
(www.northumberlandnews.com Oct. 25).

I'm sorry that I did not write this letter sooner when the subject of
marijuana had not yet past its due date, but I still wanted you to
know that I was grateful for the firm stance you took against the
decriminalization of the drug.

You wrote clearly, plainly and absolutely on the topic and this is
not (sadly) something people nowadays are used to.

The responses in opposition to your views are sheer proof to me that
what you wrote was right. Look at the personal attacks made against
you instead of just sticking to the issues at hand.

Ms. Crimi, you know you're on the right track when you've alarmed the
'red diaper doper babies.'

Printing the rebuttals to your column only made what you wrote stand
out even better. Instead of dimming the truth it made it shine even
brighter, like a light as darkness grows around it; the light gets
brighter still and is more easily seen. There is an abundance of hard
science that proves marijuana use is dangerous and it is most
certainly a gateway drug.

Right is right even if nobody is doing it. Wrong is wrong even if
everyone is doing it -- St. Augustine.
