STUDIES SHOW HARM OF USING MARIJUANA

Re: "U.S. pot votes show us the way," Nov. 13.

The editorial seems blindly one-sided, dumbing down the issue by
failing to mention those states that have voted against
decriminalizing or legalizing marijuana.

From a child and adolescent neuro-psychiatrist: "Chemically, marijuana
is a far more dangerous drug than most of the scientifically ignorant
media and North American consumers have been duped into believing."

From Drug Watch International: For community leaders, current and
former government officials and others to consider promoting a
public policy that reduces the restrictions on distributing
marijuana with implications that it is not a harmful and addictive
drug, creates an obligation to perform due diligence before
promoting or endorsing such a position. There exists an abundance
of studies and research supporting the harms of marijuana, as well
as sufficient historical data.
