LEGALIZING MARIJUANA WILL HURT OREGON'S CHILDREN

Voters, please do not sell out our children's physical and mental
health by voting for the legalization of marijuana. Heavy use of
marijuana in teenage years can dull intelligence and cause a loss of
up to eight IQ points that may last for life.

Pot is the most commonly abused illegal drug at all ages. Most people
think that pot it is not risky to their health, and legalizing pot
sends the message that it is safe to use.

Rep. Peter Buckley has thrown his support behind Measure 80 because
it will save $60 million annually in law enforcement costs and taxing
it would earn an extra $160 million.

If it is hard to enforce a law or if it costs money, then should we
just give in and legalize the problem? How easy. How many hopped-up
pot smokers will be driving down the road toward you?

And another thing: Marijuana is usually just the first step in a long
list of hard drugs.

Come on, voters, put our children first - they are your children and
grandchildren and they are not expendable. Vote no on Measure 80.
