LIKE BROWNIES? YOUR NEIGHBOR MAY HAVE SOME.

Disclaimer: Editorial letters express the respective opinions of the

Has your neighbor recently extended the height of the fence between
your yards? Could be a little marijuana paranoia going on there. It
may be legal to grow a certain amount of the plant in your back yard
for medical reasons if you have a prescription; operative word is
prescription. Of course those growing all profess to have a permit or
prescription, but that paperwork has to be displayed and the majority
don't. Question your neighbor about the legality of his newly
acquired green thumb and you can pretty much tell by the defensive
attitude whether it is being grown legally, the immediate additional
fence height is a pretty good hint that they aren't.

Medical Marijuana is a blessing for those who truly need the drug. Uh
oh, there is another operative word, drug. Drugs should be
distributed in pharmacies under regulation like any other medication.
From the size of many back yard "gardens" it is obvious that the
crop will medicate far more than the homes occupants, envision a
whole bakery full of brownies and only two customers.

Our financially strapped government has always lost out on revenue
due to illegal drugs, but now they have made it easy and confused the
issue with State versus Federal laws. For law enforcement it is a jungle.
