REASONS TO SUPPORT MEASURE G

Measure G is exactly what Kern County needs to help the federal
government effectively clear out and clean up the federally illegal
and unhealthy drug haze hovering over our county, which, under the
misguided and misinformed guise of voter-approved state law, has so
carelessly been dispersed throughout our cities by the medical
marijuana dispensaries and collectives ever since the first medicinal
pot store opened here nine years ago.

California's four top U.S. attorneys have rightly come to the
conclusion that medical marijuana dispensaries and collectives are
actually just illegal drug dealerships operating under federal radar.
The Justice Department is now taking the steps necessary to quash
these illegal businesses.

In their ongoing attempt to pull the wool over California voters,
proponents have come to completely disregard one inconvenient truth:
Federal law trumps state and local laws on all drugs, including state
voter-approved and so-called medical marijuana decrees. Kern County
supervisors and the vast majority of the county's residents are
intelligent and sober enough to know this.

Approving Measure G sends a clear signal to our county's pot
dispensaries and collectives that we side with the federal government
on this issue, and that we care about the safety and well-being of
our children and grandchildren. Saying yes to Measure G also sends
the correct message to federal lawbreakers that Kern County cities
and towns will not give in to the Jack City mentality that pervades
other cities.
