NO PROBLEMS AS 23 COLO. POT SHOPS TOLD TO CLOSE

DENVER - No problems have been reported in Colorado as 23 medical
marijuana dispensaries near schools face a deadline to move or shut
down.

A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's office, Jeff Dorschner, said
Monday that no enforcement actions have taken place so far.

U.S. Attorney John Walsh issued a letter Jan. 12 to the dispensaries,
giving them a 45-day deadline to shut down, move or face federal penalties.

Colorado's Medical Marijuana Industry Groups says the affected
dispensaries have complied. MMIG Executive Director Michael Elliott
says none of the shops plans a showdown with the federal government.

Dorschner said more letters will be going out "sooner rather than
later" to more marijuana shops located within 1,000 feet of schools.

Colorado has about 700 medical marijuana dispensaries.
