Thanks for publishing Alan Dean Foster's Dec. 15 thoughtful letter,
"Medical marijuana can be a lifesaver - literally."
I would like to add that I know from personal experience that
marijuana is a substitute for both dangerous painkillers like Vicodin
and alcohol.
The pharmaceutical industry knows this and so does the alcohol
industry. And this is probably why marijuana remains a criminalized
substance.
