LEGALIZATION A BAD IDEA

Marijuana is the most widely used illicit drug in the world. Many
people use it for pain relief, and others just to feel pleasure.

Marijuana should not be legalized in the United States, because it
has many negative effects, not only for the person who uses it, but
for society.

People who smoke marijuana will have many problems in their lives.
Many people who use marijuana can develop dependence. The short-term
effects are euphoria, relaxation, increased heart rate and a
distorted perception of time. The long-term effects include anxiety,
paranoia, loss of coordination, problems with memory and learning,
and brain damage.

In addition, media have become associated with the use of marijuana.
According to the National Institute of Drug Abuse, some teens
mistakenly believe everybody's doing it and use that as an excuse to
start using marijuana themselves. Many people start using marijuana
because of what they see in movies and TV shows. They see people
smoking marijuana like something normal, so they might think it's a
good idea to try it.

Marijuana should not be legalized, because of its effects. The
government desires to have healthy people, so they can be productive
on their jobs and contribute to our society. Every person has the
last decision to smoke this dangerous drug or not smoke it, and have
a healthy life.
