One committed a murder during one of his drug deals and is finally in prison. They all had in common: open garbage piled high, vicious dogs, guns, fights, noise and erratic behavior. Despite a neighborhood meeting with the then Mukilteo police chief, we could not get any help from the local police. I finally threatened to sue because of the lack of protection we were receiving. A few days later a SWAT team arrived and we were relieved of their overt activities. The house is empty at present. The owner would probably welcome Mr. Kelsey as he did nothing to help alleviate the problems of these former residents. We were told in a Housing Authority brochure that an owner could be held liable for permitting drug activities in their property but we were not able to get any more help with our problems from this angle than we did from the police.
