TAINTED ECSTASY MAY BE LINKED TO TEEN'S DEATH

The use of tainted ecstasy, an illegal drug, may have contributed to
the death of a 15-yearold Strathmore boy Friday.

Strathmore RCMP said Saturday it's possible the drug may have been
contaminated with additional chemicals that contributed to the
medical distress of the teen.

"We don't know if that's a factor yet," said Cpl. Duane White with
the RCMP in Strathmore. An autopsy will be conducted on the teen to
determine the cause of death.

The 15-year-old and a 19-year-old friend were at the Strathmore
skateboard park Friday afternoon when a caller told police the pair
were behaving erratically. When authorities arrived, the teens were
in serious medical distress and taken immediately to the Strathmore Hospital.
