FLOWER POWER

I'm looking for a campaign director to assist me in getting elected
to the next Legislature. It is my intent to introduce a bill allowing
people to grow poppies in their backyard for production of morphine
(heroin) for medical purposes. It would be the same as our existing
bill for growing cannabis (marijuana). There are several reasons that
would make this product (heroin) much more useful than cannabis
(pot). First, it is more effective in pain reduction. Second, a field
of poppies is more attractive than a field of marijuana. Third, the
processing of the product could be minimal expense if the workers
were allowed to take some home for personal use. I haven't a clue as
to how the poppies are made into heroin. But it couldn't be too
difficult since a bunch of uneducated farmers in Afghanistan do it. I
would suppose someone knowledgeable in cooking methamphetamine
probably knows how. Making heroin is federally illegal, as is growing
pot, but it seems that the feds stand aside when pot is not sent out
of Montana. Certainly, no one would sell heroin out of Montana just
for the money. Since our Gov. Schweitzer vetoed the bill that would
cancel the existing law and my bill would, except for the final
product, be identical to this law, I am proposing to give him first
choice for my campaign director.
