ANTARCTICA: A GOOD VACATION SPOT FOR MARIJUANA FOES?

Re. "Potheads ruining Breckenridge" by Lorie Willis, letters, March 21

Marijuana use has been a part of the Breckenridge community for
decades longer than you have been blessing us with your presence. Many
of those people who help make your vacations ones to treasure are, in
fact, regular marijuana users and supporters of the legalization of
marijuana. You have chosen to broadcast your ignorance and intolerance
to the whole community by painting an entire population with wide,
all-encompassing brush strokes. Maybe there are no individuals in
Texas, and the diversity here in Summit County has finally pushed the
last of your many buttons. Or maybe you're envious that some people
are able to relax and enjoy life, rather than be stuck in the rat race
with people who hate what they do for a living. Whatever your
reasoning, choosing to find a new location for your family vacation
will be better for all parties involved - except, of course, for those
parties currently enjoying the next vacation spot you choose.

A suggestion, if I may: Choose Antarctica. The permanent human
population in Antarctica is zero. It is probably the only chance you
have of choosing a location with zero marijuana use. It is also the
only location where your presence won't be a detriment to the
community located there. Unless you try to feed the local wildlife -
which you probably will because as we all know, the world is your
play-thing and was made solely for your enjoyment. Let us all hope
that the wildlife you end up feeding is a polar bear.
