HIDDEN AGENDAS?

It is with utter astonishment that I read in the Times-Herald ( but not a word in our local Benicia paper ) that three of our elected city commissioners have opposed a total ban on marijuana dispensaries in our city.  In this day and age, with the growing drug problems throughout the country, why in the name of God would anyone in their right mind invite this issue into our neighborhoods?

I had previously read, also in the Times-Herald, that there are more than 40 dispensaries within driving distance -- and some that even deliver.  Perhaps Commissioner Harris could have such a delivery system used for his parents? He, Commissioners Sherry and Hirsch should all heed the advice of those who have to deal directly with the drug problems on our streets, the Benicia Police Department, and support a permanent ban.

One might wonder if there were hidden agendas inspiring their opposition to such a ban, and why they feel their opposition will not be remembered in their coming re-elections.
