MEDICAL-POT VICTORY SAD DAY FOR STATE

Well, Arizona, the fight is over. The ballots have been counted (and
then counted again).

The margin was so miniscule that a game of Hacky Sack could be played
between the two sides.

Every protest, march and candlelight vigil has served its final
purpose: the medical use of marijuana has officially been legalized in
Arizona ("Medical marijuana passes," Sunday).

Now, not to worry, there is still plenty of time to have your doctor
reiterate some previous ailment or to contract some sort of non-fatal
disease. The Arizona Department of Health Services is not due to
finalize the legalization process until April.

But when that day finally arrives, the dispensary doors will open, and
a flood of college students with sudden inexplicable physical ailments
will pour in.

We didn't think it would actually happen, but Arizona, you really came
through for us this time. This is one small step for the Grand Canyon
State, and one giant leap for Arizona. -
