EDUCATION ON SUBSTANCE ABUSE COMMITTEE SPONSORS PRESENTATION

The Keremeos Education on Substance Abuse Committee is sponsoring a
hard hitting dramatzation that will be brought to the senior students
of SESS in an assembly on November 12.

Part of MADD Canada's multi-media school assembly program, "Shattered"
will have an impact on SESS students that will, hopefully, influence
their decision making in a positive way for years to come.

"This presentation is part of a national campaign that wasn't easy for
us to get," Substance Abuse Committee spokesman Manfred Bauer said.
"This is a high tech, multi-media presentation that has proved to be a
very effective way to raise awareness and provide safety strategies
for youth."

MADD Canada's school assembly program exposes false perceptions about
alcohol, drugs, and driving that distort reality, including binge
drinking, realities about impairment caused by smoking cannibis,
mixing cannibis and alcohol, and accepting rides from alcohol and drug
impaired drivers.

The assembly is slated to begin at 9 a.m. in the senior school gym.

Other events brought to SESS students by the Education on Substance
Abuse Committee since 2006 include:

Odd Squad

Greenthumb Theatre

Headlines Theatre

Crystal Meth Society of B.C. Info Show

ICBC Road Sense
