LOOK AROUND, PEOPLE SMOKE POT

Your opposition to Proposition 19 was reasoned and well thought out,
but wrong. So what if some counties/cities may not allow marijuana
consumption. After alcohol prohibition in the 1930s, many states
continued prohibition, much to their regret. Look around, people smoke
marijuana and do drugs. Prohibition has only caused grief and has cost
Mexico many lives to drug cartels. Yes, consumption will increase once
passed, because those that feared breaking the law will now begin
trial usage. Eventually, legal growing of marijuana will end secret
farms in our wilderness areas and end the export across borders
freeing border patrols to do more important tasks.

Propositions always have their bad points, but this one will allow
competition, lower prices and, hopefully, save lives. I think the risk
of a yes vote is justified.
