CALLING ON PILOTS TO SPOT THE POT

Local pilots are being asked to keep an eye on the ground this
summer.

Operation Pot Spot is underway once again in the area encompassing
Crime Stoppers of Haldimand, Norfolk and Tillsonburg. Aviation
enthusiasts are being encouraged to be observant for illegal marijuana
crops when they fly over rural areas.

With a minimal risk of frost, the season is now ripe for marijuana
growers to plant their crops outdoors, the local Crime Stoppers states
in a press release. Up above, marijuana plants are bright green,
occasionally appearing in clusters. The immediate surrounding area is
often trampled and marijuana can be grown among legitimate crops.

"When pilots see something that they feel is suspicious, then they are
encouraged to jot down the location through a global positioning
system and then contact Crime Stoppers anonymously," said Gord Little,
chairperson for the local Crime Stoppers, in the release.

Crime Stoppers cautions the public to never approach a suspected
marijuana crop. Instead they should call Crime Stoppers at
1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or leave an anonymous tip at helpsolvecrime.com
