Chavez, El Paso Times 6 SLAIN, 4 WOUNDED AT HOUSE IN JUAREZ A wake for a shooting victim in Juarez became the site of more violence Thursday when gunmen killed six people and wounded four. The bodies of three men and a 16-year-old boy were found outside a house in the Parajes del Sur colonia, police said Friday. They found the body of another man, Filiberto Rios Rosas, 26, in a car parked nearby. The sixth victim, Diana Aide Martinez Rivas, 21, died at a Juarez hospital, police said. Police identified the other four who were killed as Anselmo Eloy Zuniga Ortiz, 23; Jose Alberto Martinez Salgado, 25; Juan Jose Leyva Olan, 28; and Julio Cesar Ra mirez Herrera, 16. Each was shot multiple times Thursday after leaving the home where the wake was held. On Friday, investigators were still trying to determine how many gunmen were involved. Investigators found 66 bullet casings, included casings usually used in AK-47 rifles, police said. Three men and a woman were wounded in the violence. Police said they were taken to hospitals in Juarez, but their conditions were not disclosed Friday. The wake was for Aaron Alberto Florez Ortiz, 18, who was shot to death Tuesday night in the same neighborhood. Police found Ortiz's body in the driver's seat of a car parked near Paseo del Sur and Mar Azul streets. The attack at the wake was the second recent multiple killing in the Juarez area. On March 2, six people, including a 16-year-old boy, were shot and killed at a ranch near the village of Praxedis G. Guerrero. In January, gunmen invaded a party and killed 16 people, many of them teenagers. Investigators said the killers thought the teens were members of a rival gang. The drug-related violence in Juarez has residents and police on high alert. On Wednesday, a threat was left at the city's police memorial after the killing of an off-duty officer. That victim, Patrol Officer Luis Alberto Adame Rubio, 32, was chased down in his car and shot by gunmen. He had joined the Juarez police a year ago, part of classes of recruits who were to weed out corruption. Security for Juarez Mayor Jose Reyes Ferriz has also been increased. The mayor was the target of a death-threat note found Wednesday along with a pig's head. About 4,700 people have been killed in Juarez since January 2008, the start of a war between the Sinaloa and Juarez drug cartels. - --- MAP posted-by: Jo-D
