MY HUSBAND SHOULDN'T BE EXTRADITED TO THE U.S.

Re: How long should the arm of the law be? Jan. 16

While most Canadians sought for extradition to the United States on
drug charges crossed the border with drugs, my husband, Marc Emery,
never went to the U.S. and only sold marijuana seeds. Marc was facing
at least 30 years (and up to life) in the U.S. prison system, based
on three excessive conspiracy charges; so, under great duress, he
signed a plea deal for a five-year prison sentence, to be served in
the United States.

Marc Emery is an upstanding Canadian citizen and political activist
who shouldn't be extradited to the U.S. If his actions deserve
punishment at all, he should be charged here under Canadian law.
