COMPLETE WASTE OF GOOD POLICE TIME

As a retired police officer, I was distressed to read of all the hours
my colleagues spent chasing marijuana grow operations (Sunday article,
"Snohomish County a marijuana hotbed"). Investigations, searches and
related administrative tasks take time away from the deadly DUI, child
molesters and other crimes where there is a clearly defined victim.
During my 18 years of service, I was sent to zero calls generated by
the use of marijuana.

Marijuana is no play toy and that is why the government should begin
to regulate, control and tax it just like it does the very deadly drug
alcohol. Having my profession chase marijuana is a horrific waste of
good police time.
