LEGALIZE POT THEN WE WON'T NEED IPP'S

To the Editor:

We are damming and diverting our creeks so that we can grow pot
indoors in British Columbia.

New statistics report that 1,000 gigawatts, which is enough electrical
energy to power 100,000 homes, is used each year to grow pot indoors
in B.C. Of this vast amount of energy, approximately $30 million worth
is stolen each year.

Growing pot indoors is crazy for all kinds of reasons, and damming up
our creeks to accomplish more of the same is insanity. Marijuana must
be taken out of the closet and out of the bedrooms and basements of
this nation.

Let us move marijuana out into the sunshine where it belongs. Growing
pot indoors is wrong, no matter how you look at it. Our marijuana
laws are creating an environment that encourages crimes, criminal
behaviour and the vast consumption of electricity from our creeks.

Encourage the growing of pot outdoors by changing the law and start
analyzing what we are using our power for, to what end we are damming
our creeks. If we eliminate growing pot indoors, we will not need the
IPP's, and the taxpayer in many ways will gain.

Move marijuana out into the sunshine and stop the IPP's.
