STOP ASSUMING POT IS DANGEROUS

Editor, Manteca Bulletin,

You recently wrote a column for the Manteca Bulletin titled, "Hey,
man, like tax me, like a lot, like now". I'll abstain from attempting
to criticize this tired, dated "impersonation" of what you deem
marijuana smokers to sound and think like, because doing so would be
participating in said (untrue) cliche. After all, abstinence works, right?

I couldn't help but notice that while you claim that MPP's ad is
"empirical evidence" that marijuana destroys brain cells, you didn't
actually refute the statement made in the ad that the taxes collected
from regulating marijuana would pay the salaries of 20,000 teachers.
You simply said it was stupid. This is a familiar tactic of those who
continue to support the prohibition of marijuana: citing no credible
facts whatsoever and, instead, relying on many people's assumption
that marijuana is dangerous.
