DRUG BUYERS COME FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE - TO EASE PAIN

Re: "Who are these dimwitted drug buyers?" (Letters, May 22 News).

"Who is buying this dirty, contaminated trash?" People from all walks
of life, and every tax bracket.

When one considers that junk food kills many times more Canadians
each year than all illegal drugs combined, the use of illegal or
adulterated drugs hardly seems like a big issue to a lot of people.

When one considers that the companies who provide our food, fuel, and
electricity are damaging the planet and society at a rate many times
the rate of any damage caused by the illicit drug market, the fact
that you have to buy drugs from gangsters seems like a pretty small issue.

When one considers the alarming levels of pollution in our air,
water, soil, food, and bodies - using adulterated drugs seems like
even less of an issue.

When one considers how effectively - albeit temporarily - these drugs
soothe the pain of being alive in the world, the fact that they are
adulterated seems like a tiny issue.
