BIASED REPORTING

Editor: Regard the editorial Tuesday in the Sun-Star, "It's time to talk pot."

The Sun-Star cannot seem to help adding a reefer madness element to a
report on marijuana.

To wit: the statement that "(alcohol) certainly is a factor in more
deaths each year (than marijuana)" is misleading because alcohol
causes more than 100,000 deaths every year while medical science has
not yet discovered a fatality caused by ingesting marijuana.

We cannot have an honest debate about marijuana with biased
reporting.
