COPS NAB FELGER ON POT CHARGE

Tim Felger, an independent provincial candidate for Abbotsford South
and local businessman, was arrested Wednesday evening by police on
charges that he was allegedly selling marijuana to minors.

The arrest took place at Felger's "Da Kine" shop on the 33700 block
of Essendene, just one day after the provincial election.

Several officers raided the store and while police escorted him to a
waiting police cruiser Felger started to shout at bystanders that his
arrest came about because of "archaic" drug laws.

Felger received less than 200 votes in the riding tally Tuesday and
ran on a drug-legalization platform that added colour and discourse
for observers to an otherwise bland electoral cycle of all-candidate forums.

Felger has run for almost every public office in the Abbotsford-area
for the past several years, and is a staunch marijuana advocate.

Felger remained in custody in Abbotsford overnight and was scheduled
to appear in Provincial Court yesterday afternoon on the drug-related charges.
