DEATH NOT SURPRISING

The death of Cassie Eyre is tragic but not surprising. Even though she
knew the dangers of ecstasy, she went ahead and took part in what is
increasingly becoming a teen ritual. Teens are lured to ecstasy as a
party drug and are often told its effects are no more harmful than
marijuana. That is a drug dealer's major selling point. If society is
wrong about marijuana, perhaps it is wrong about other drugs. My
condolences to Cassie's family and friends. I hope some valuable
lessons come from this tragedy.
