WAR ON DRUGS NOT WORKING

I'm just a grumpy old man who wouldn't recognize a marijuana cigarette
if I was smoking it, and I thought Barry Goldwater was God's gift to
man. But I have to agree with Hillary Clinton that the USA is
responsible for the drug war on our southern border. Without our
demand, there would be no drug business in Mexico.

Tobacco is legal in America, but the billions spent in education
discouraging its use has dramatically reduced consumption since the
1960s. If our government would spend half what it wastes on the
so-called war on drugs on an education and drug-rehab program, the
demand for drugs would wither. Maybe legalization and taxation might
be a part of the program, but obviously, what's being done now is just
not working.
