REPUTATIONS NEEDLESSLY HARMED

The inactivity on the part of the police officer is the most
troubling element in the issue involving the Downtown restaurant, a
city police officer and city alderman.

If the officer supposedly smelled the odor of marijuana, why didn't
she investigate? It seems like a case of poor police work rather than
misconduct.

While the officer simply failed to act upon a hunch, irreparable
damage has been done to the reputation of Zanders' restaurant as well
as to the political career of the Ald. Mike Verveer.
