WEEDING OUT BAD IDEAS

Re: Trade Weed For Speed!: Regarding Michael Phelps decision to smoke
marijuana, I'd like to share my experience. I had smoked marijuana
for years. After I was seriously injured in a car accident, my life
changed completely. The only thing that didn't was my smoking. Then,
as part of my physiotherapy, I got into mountain biking to help my
recovery. As I got better, health wise, I also got better at mountain
biking. I then started racing mountain bikes for fun and I always
came close to the top racers, but never could match them. I always
wondered "what if" because those elite racers didn't smoke. Then,
three years ago, I totally quit smoking weed. The very next race I
won a gold medal! I got my answer to "what if" and I never looked
back. I wonder why such an elite athlete like Phelps would even want
to harm their lungs or their chances at excelling at the sport they love.
