POLICE SAY WOMAN TRIED TO BRING POT INTO PRISON

MALONE - A Geneva woman faces charges for reportedly attempting to smuggle a small amount of marijuana into the Bare Hill Correctional Facility.

Denise M.  Todd, 40, was charged Saturday with second-degree promoting prison contraband, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana and having a controlled substance not in its original container, state police said.

She also is accused of storing her pills in a days-of-the-week container, instead of the prescription bottle.

She was arraigned in Town Court and sent to Franklin County jail on $5,000 cash bail.
