DRUG TEAM SUCCESSFUL IN DUPAGE
In 2008, Sheriff John E. Zaruba's tactical narcotics team seized drugs
with a street value of $5.5 million during 116 investigations.
TNT team members made 106 arrests, 73 of which were felony arrests,
and recovered 16,208 grams of cocaine, 1,764 grams of cannabis, 283
grams of methamphetamine, 675 Ecstasy pills, as well as varying
amounts of GHB, heroin and mushrooms.
"Our multi-jurisdictional undercover task force, which includes
investigators from the Glen Ellyn, West Chicago, Woodridge and Lisle
police departments, should be commended for their efforts to stop the
sales of illegal drugs to children in our communities," Zaruba said. "This has been a successful year for our task force."
