BE CAUTIOUS ABOUT LEGALIZING MARIJUANA
There is much to discuss before the medicinal use of marijuana is
allowed. Can pot cause cancer? Can it be smoked in public? Will people
be able to smoke it and then drive a car? Will it be banned from
public places like cigarettes are? And what about the secondhand smoke?
Everyone should know that this drug slows reaction times and alters a
user's mood and mind. Are all of these risks worth the legalization of
pot? And what about our children finding this in the medicine cabinet
or watching a person smoke it?
There need to be strong restrictions put on this drug if it becomes
legal. As for our social values, they will suffer if this drug is made
legal. It seems like other states follow California's new laws. I
think Wisconsin should not follow California's lead but become a
leader and "just say no" to this drug.
