DECRIMINALIZING DRUGS IS THE ANSWER

I disagree with Assemblyman Alberto Torrico's claim (Opinion, Nov. 16)
that marijuana needs more regulation.

In fact, I think that it needs exactly the opposite and should be
completely decriminalized. By doing so, it will help ameliorate prison
overcrowding, gangs, complications with medicinal dispensaries,
quality, safety, alternative uses, medical research and, certainly not
least of all, the right of individuals to ingest whatever substances
they choose under their own volition.

Please do yourself a favor and visit drugpolicy.org, where you will
find facts rather than political scaremongering.
