Re: 'Gutsy drug czar challenges no-guts politicians' (Nov. 11).

Donald MacPherson says Canada desperately needs a national discussion 
on drug policy reform. The problem is prohibitionists are like 
religious fanatics. They refuse to accept or acknowledge any view 
that differs from their own. Prohibitionists believe, despite 
historical and scientific evidence to the contrary, that what they 
are doing is right. They cannot be swayed. It isn't that they have no 
guts; it is that they lack intelligence. How do you discuss anything 
sensibly with people who are not sensible?
