ON A SOAPBOX

David Berner's column takes a harsh position on Vancouver's Insite,
calling it a "hideous mistake" and a "deadly waste," and claims that
facts have been manipulated to support it.

While I applaud Berner's forthrightness in making his opinion known,
I remain thoroughly unconvinced.

His piece provides no evidence to support his assertions.

Claiming that all of these people -- many of them highly respected
professionals -- have manipulated the truth about Insite is a serious
charge that requires strong evidence to support it.

Tell us how the facts have been manipulated and by whom. And why was
this done? And why should we believe Berner's story as opposed to theirs?

Insite is a contentious issue. Let's not muddy the issue further with
unsubstantiated accusations.

When Berner wants to bring some evidence to the table, I'd love to
hear it. But until then, he's just another man on a soapbox.
