LEGAL DUTIES

Ernie Derkatch asks: Why feed drug addicts the very substance they
keep abusing? (Opinion, May 29).

The writer talks about personal responsibility, but does not seem to
understand the concept fully.

I am 100 per cent in favour of making people personally responsible
for their behaviours.

This means the government should not be responsible for making some
drugs illegal. Everything should be legally available and regulated.

Only then can people truly assume responsibility for their choice to
use or not use drugs without causing undue burdens on society via the
black market and associated crime.
