HYDROPONIC SUPPLY STORES CATER TO LEGAL POT GROWERS

Re: "$12M in drugs seized", May 23.

York Regional Police Chief Armand La Barge should know that while he's
campaigning on the largely exaggerated grow-op scare, these same
hydroponic supply stores also cater to legal plant growers, including
legal medical marijuana patients and their caregivers. Health Canada
licenses over 2,000 grow-ops across the country.

To remind Chief La Barge, the Supreme Court of Canada recently ruled
that police forces owe suspects a duty of care in investigations, and
if this is not the case, can be liable for damages.

It would be a shame if this PR stunt ended up costing York Region
taxpayers millions.
