DISOBEY INJUSTICE

I travelled over 3,500 miles to attend the recent 420 rally at the
Vancouver Art Gallery. I'm alarmed at the The Province's stance toward
those who publicly defied the law by smoking marijuana. It's the duty
of every freedom-loving citizen to disobey unjust laws. Alabama was
once the centre of massive civil disobedience during the civil-rights
movement.

All civil-rights marchers broke the law when they registered
African-Americans to vote. Rosa Parks broke the law when she refused
to give up her seat on that bus.

When citizens gather in such massive numbers and the police don't have
the support of the community to do anything about it, then perhaps
it's time to change the law to better reflect the community's wishes.
