READER SUGGESTS FUTURE CHANGE IN ACCEPTANCE OF MARIJUANA

Re: story of April 21, "Hundreds turn out for pro-pot rally."

There was a time in Canada when being a homosexual was illegal, and
punishable with jail. Gays were considered by the general public to be
sick and twisted, in need of a "cure" for their conditions.

But today, there are pride parades in almost every city in Canada, and
same-sex couples can marry and adopt. I applaud this.

So times change, attitudes change, laws change and, thankfully,
governments change.

But Canadians need to get something into their heads. Humans will be
gone one day, but cannabis is here to stay.
