PROFESSOR LAUDED FOR VIEW OF DRUG DECRIMINALIZATION

Re: The Opinion page article "Does criminalization of drugs hurt society
more than the drugs?" by Arnold H. Loewy, professor of criminal law at
the Texas Tech School of Law.

I agree wholeheartedly with the Texas Tech Law School professor about
making drugs legal (A-J, Feb. 28). I don't believe there is anyone out
there who hasn't had drugs affect their lives. So why don't we all
rise up and make the government decriminalize them? It would save a
lot of lives, broken homes and abused children.

It breaks my heart to see the destruction that drugs make in families.
I know firsthand how much heartache it causes. So, come on, folks, and
demand drugs be decriminalized. That Tech Law School professor is the
first smart person I have read about.

When the drug dealers are arrested, their bail should be set so high
they couldn't get out for a long time. It doesn't do any good to
arrest them, for they just get right out.

I am 86 years old and would like to see this happen before I leave
this world for a better place.
